YAY! Spring Break! I am so glad to have a week off from those dear children! Yesterday and today I have slept like a Queen, eaten well and washed/cleaned my house. Small things I don't get to do during the average week. Especially the sleeping part.
This week I have a lot of projects to do.
Start packing boxes- I'm moving to a town house.
Grade another stack of papers.
Plan out 7th grade lessons
Plan out 8th grade lessons.
Read the great Gatsby, make unit plan on it for the 9th grades.
Plan the rest of the 9th graders lessons.
Work on updated resume.
Apply to new districts around the area.
Find some interesting jobs for Anthony to look at.
Scout out potential careers, other than teaching, that I can do in Washington.
Think about moving to Washington with in the next three to four years.
Think about finishing a degree in French and a masters in English.
I have the best recipe for dinner tonight. Anthony found it online. We're using our wine form wine club, and it smells so good. I love wine club! The wine is so wonderful! I want to host a party in a month or so but we shall see.
Dixie Dog and I have been going to Puppy Training classes and it has been helping a lot. We still don't have potty training down, but we've got "sit", and "leave it" and "take it". Also, we are working on loose leash walking and she is getting much better. And now that I now what commands to use, training her is a lot easier. I have never been good at leash training. I get nervous when I'm with a dog in public. With so many reports of dogs attacking people, I don't want to be stereotyped because I have a bigger dog. Just because purse dogs are in doesn't mean all other dogs are not equally sweet and lovable. I happen to prefer bigger dogs over little ones. I feel safer with a dog that can do some damage or is smart enough to save me in an emergency. A little purse dog wouldn't do at all. Anyway Dixie is doing really well and I think I might sign-up for the intermediate training class, if she can handle it. Being in a room full of people and dogs makes her go nuts! She isn't with a lot of people all the time. I think I might leave her at Doggie Day Care a few times a week to help her become a little more socialized. Also, the office received a complaint about her barking during the day, while I'm in Lorenzo and they gave me a warning. My neighbor, a cranky old lady, told the office I was letting my dog relieve herself in front of her door and abandoning my dog during the day. what a load of crap. My dog is well taken care of. I don't let my dog run around the building or let my dog eat peoples faces, like other people. My dog is fully contained and accommodated for a house dog. This lady has no reason to complain. Dogs bark, The Heritage is a dog friendly place. What do you expect will happen when you live in an apartment building with people who own dogs? All the people are going to slit their dogs vocal chords? Yeah right. Get a life lady! Oh well. I guess she has nothing better to do than make crazy claims. I'll just take Dixie to Day Care, unless I can find a dog sitter or walker person. I think my vet has a few flyers posted in the waiting area. I think this summer I want to be a dog sitter/walker. I forgot how much I love dogs. And that would be a great summer job too... out playing with animals in the warm summer sun! we'll see what happens. I might spend most of the summer looking for a new job. Lorenzo sucks. I don't want to teach there. After a lot of thought, I just don't like working in that district, there is no support from the administration. And that is NOT fair to teachers or students.
OK, off to check on supper.
