I have just a few weeks left of this internship and a few papers to write. It has been awesome, I have learned so much from reading Barry's notes. He really is an interesting guy. You should all read one of his books, he has many.
I have started putting ideas together for classroom decorations, more importantly grammar supplements. I have a long list of books that I want to use but no money to buy them with. that seems to be something I always run into. I find books and want buy them but don't have money and get them from the library and never have time to read them before they are due again. And I can't write in library books like i can with bought books. You know a book is loved when there are papers with notes sticking out and scribbles in the margin.
So the plan is to plan and write until money rains down on me or I find a money tree. or, until Lorenzo cuts me a check to buy supplies with. I think I can wait. I'll have to anyway, they have yet to give me a curriculum to make lesson plans. So how am I supposed to get ready for three grades worth of lesson plans? Magic? Good looks? Charm? Making it up as I go along? Yay school systems.
When I get my first pay check I think I want to buy a new couch, not from a thrift store, whole sale.
I've also been thinking about next year. I might apply to a few Washington school districts. I'm not expecting to get any other placements for a while. But it would be nice to move back to the West Coast. And Anthony does want to go to grad school at the the University of Washington. So do I, maybe.
