Last few weeks

I've never managed to regular with updating this, but I'm going to try making a point to update once a week. I know me. A post a day would never work.

Not getting into spoilers, but YOU MUST SEE Zombieland! Yes, it it extremely gross. I went with my friends M & D and at one point, if D and I hadn't been there, M would have left because it was a little too realistic looking. She's quite jumpy anyway for point of reference. However, it is also extremely funny.

I've been pleased with Supernatural so far this season.
I know lots of people have been displeased with the darker tone the show's taken so far. It doesn't bother me too much. I think it's an appropriate tone for what they are dealing with, though as a native Houstonian I would appreciate them not focusing on my stomping grounds in this apocalypse anymore - Galveston slammed by a hurricane in Sympathy for the Devil and bombing Houston! in The End. I get the boys wouldn't want Dallas and San Antonio leveled, but there's Austin and Corpus Christi, El Paso. Yeah, not happening. I get it.

Jensen seriously knocked it out of the park in The End. Regardless of the costume, there was never a second's confusion between future!Dean and our!Dean. Hell, our!Dean even looked five years younger. I'm not sure that future was a creation of Zachariah or if it was real, but some points I'm not buying either way. While I think Dean had a good point about him and Sam not hunting together now, I will not believe that Dean wouldn't have found a way to keep in touch with Sam at least until Sam said yes to Lucifer. Hell, Dean hunted down John when he didn't want to be found, there's no way he'd leave Sam out in the cold. So, while a part of me is glad the boys are back together, I do think it would have done Dean some good to be on his own, by his own choice, for a little while longer. Of course, I also think he should have taken the Colt back with him.

I'd also like to see more of the other hunters, Ellen, Rufus, even Jo. More towards the end of the season though. I'm a die-hard Buffy girl and it's hard not to remember that friends make the Chosen One's job easier. Except when Joss wanted to cause trouble.

I've mentioned before I'm involved in with the Kairos Outside ministry and we had a weekend two weeks ago. It was truly a blessing to all the ladies involved. I've actually agreed to a leadership position, so I had the job of herding the cats, um guests and team members, and making sure we were only a little bit behind time. The guests would just not be rushed. For the next weekend in March, I'm in charge of contacting potential guests and their loved ones. My weekend will be in September 2010 and all I have to do for that is play master of ceremonies. On the weekend itself anyway. Before hand, I have to assemble the team, pick ladies to give the talks, schedule team meetings. On the plus side, I already know my verse and song, so that's something, right?

Speaking of my Joss affection, jossverse_bb is still accepting authors and artists. In fact, the author sign-up has been extended to November 20, 2009. I have not signed up yet, but I am intending to. I have an AU post-S3 story that has been sitting around for far longer than I care to think about and I really want to get it finished. I have signed up to ficfinishing to finish a couple of chapters this month and then there is always NaNoWriMo to get some more head way made on it. I will get this done. Too many things are coming together not to.

Also, happy birthday to speakr2customrs. It's a little late,
