try www.cnet.com for reviews also. I like my laptop, but I don't use it for portable reasons and I play a lot of games on it. If you're going to get one, think of what you're mainly going to use it for and find a laptop that suits your needs. I doubt you're going to use it to play videogames so you can opt for a cheaper one. But if you're planning to take your laptop to class or whatever I wouldn't recommend a VAIO to you. that and Sony overprices their laptops because of the brand name. Try a tablet PC, I heard those come in handy.
Satellite M45-S331 um... itz got a big screen and itz pretty and works most of the time... lotz of harddrive space... it sometimes freezes up when replugged directly back into the power outlet... itz hard to explain but i've worked my way around it... aim freezes up sometimes but i think itz just cuz i never restart my computer... for the most part... i like it... hope this helps =)
you need to change your power settings... default is usually that after a certain amount of time left unattended the monitor will turn off or it'll go on standby...
P.S.- One thing I really like is the touchpad...the very right side lets you scroll (by moving your finger up and down) and the very top of it lets you go back a page and forward a page when you're online if you move your finger quickly to the left or to the right. It's very useful and much easier than moving the cursor all the way up to the buttons on my browser all the time.
