I was thinking...what if it's something I've done that's gotten her in trouble? What if, by some cruel twist of fate, her brother has somehow found out that she and I are in a relationship and told her parents. What if that's the reason they took everything? What if I'm the cause of it all, and she finds out, and hates me for it? What if this completely destroys both our relationship and our friendship? Christ.
