Dear Pat Toomey and other Rabid Republicans,
Many of you are complaining that Sen. Specter switched parties to avoid a primary challenge from Pat Toomey which polls say he was losing. Your concern isn't relevant for two reasons: one, in essence Sen. Specter has already forfeited the Republican primary to Toomey, making Toomey the de facto Republican nominee. Two, the citizens of Pennsylvania will get to decide whether D-Specter or R-Toomey is the better representative during the general election next year.
So nothing has changed, except Toomey has won the Republican primary, and you're now running against a Democratic incumbent instead of a Democratic challenger. That's what happens when you betray your incumbents by funding a primary challenger against them. Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get the hell over it.
