The Australian government's right to conceal the details of boat turnbacks is being challenged in a freedom of information case. Already the guvmint has managed to hand over sekrit details supposedly crucial to our national security to the Guardian. Oopsie. The case has also brought to light the fact that the orders that meant boats were turned around illegally, in Indonesian waters, still stand.

Last week, Papua New Guinea's Supreme Court ordered the Australian and PNG governments to produce their plan for resettling the 900 refugees still stuck on Manus Island. Australia refused. The matter returns to court this week.
