Blue Exorcist is a series that started airing a month or two ago, the manga has apparently been around since 2009. But as the anime seems to have stuck to the manga so far, I'm just watching first for a change. ^^ I'd rec it, not for the plot, but for the characters. ;)

It reminds me of Rurouni Kenshin and of Sword of the Stranger, except the main character is a woman (yay!) and she's BADASS.

I'm only halfway through the series and it's a bit slow right now, but still very good. ^^
