otonari (2009)
what made me watch this is that...most of the reviews that i've seen have negative feedbacks about the movie and that is, in general, the movie is slow...nonetheless, the same reviewers say that they like the movie...
contradicting eh...
so i got curious...how can a slow movie which is hated for it slowness be loved at the same time because of it...
it doesn't hurt watching it since it stars okada junichi...
surprisingly it's by j-storm...
after watching the movie...
now i understand...
given that we are used to fast-paced, definitely the story has a really slow pacing...but it builds up the story...but does it??
somehow i perceive the movie to be hopelessly romantic but at the same time it's not...
nonetheless, the movie is surprisingly refreshing...the atmosphere, the story, it's really great...sure, there are parts where i thought of, "how did that happen?" and "muri!" but watching the movie is like watching an old family movie from the projector...
the most memorable part of the movie is the ending...the way it ended (the way it's told) is different...it's not the usual ending or the open ended kind...
