Life on a Disc

Standing in the center of a futuristic metropolis of tall white angular buildings I saw several people with odd dolls or pets next to them. I turned to my left and found an inanimate dog in front of me quite similar to one I had just seen. There was a peculiar metallic cone on the dog's back. In my right hand was a small disc. Imagine a hollow cone with no solid base, and pointing upward. It's diameter was about two inches, and its height was one inch. About one half inch from the bottom up, the top of the cone was gone. So I had a weird angled loop made from the same kind of material the underside of a CD is made from. It refracted light just the same, but had some electronic circuitry I could see through its semi transparent gray color.

I compared this disc I found in my hand, to the metal cone on the dogs back. I gently placed the disc over the cone, and the dog sprung to life like a young puppy. As I paid closer attention to those around me, I saw a lady pull out a disc of her own, and place it onto one of her son's stuffed animals. The toy came to life and began walking along side her carrying on an intelligent conversation. I also looked to the right and saw a fleet of teddy bears working at a construction site carrying rocks and debris away from a pit.
