Dreaming

As I sit on the damp ground, the sound of the roaring tide along with the waves hitting the sand around me sounds like music. The rhythm of every hit becomes in sync with the motion of the wind. My surroundings begin to jump out at me like vibrant colors. I see the tiniest of crabs hiding in their flattering purple shells, soft slimy slugs that are brown and look like very unappealing rocks, and branches of mysterious yellow sea weed drifting all around me. The beauty of these creatures overwhelms me as I walk on the lime green moss stones with an inch of cold salty water flowing over each one. The tease of this cold refreshing feeling below me causes trembling in my body and before my thoughts can conquer my actions, my spine grows cold with chills and the salt water that glistens from the moon light carries me as if I am its own. Slowly, I drift away with the current of dreams; For once I forget about colleges, credit cards, cars, cell phones, school, homework, money, guys and everything else meaningless disappears from my thoughts as the atmosphere swallows my existence. The harmony of all my senses flows gently on the water along with my shell, keeping me from sinking. For a moment I am weightless, and I imagine I am hundreds of miles away, tanning in the tropical sun of the Caribbean. As my body shuts down and my eyes close my mind continues to visualize the perfection around me, keeping my reality alive during my sweet sleep.
