Day 1 - My very first anime

If movies count, it was My Neighbor Totoro, a Miyazaki classic! At the time I was 4, so I didn't realize it was about an entirely different country for a while, but I watched this show at least once every year for the next decade. It was my "Easter" movie that I watched with all my cousins at my grandmother's house. I don't know why we watched it, it just became a tradition. I think I was about 7 when I finally realized "hey, this girl isn't American!" from the way she wrote up and down in her journal. I thought she was Chinese. :|a Ah, the brilliance of an American education in a small, ethnically bland school.

It's been a long time since I last saw that movie. I need to buy my own copy....
