Plushies, anyone?
So, a few posts ago I professed my budding fanatical love of a certain Admiral Zex and I've been stalking watching him for a while and dwelling and dwelling on the idea of writing fanfiction, despite my lack of time. While I work on other things, I can't help but think of that crazy, green xenophilic Admiral and kept thinking lots of "fan-thoughts". You know, thinking, "Man I wish I could meet him", "I would looooove it if he were real" and "If I had a plushie of him, I'd snuggle it until the stuffings burst!"
Well, this line of thinking gave me the brilliant idea of making my own ZEX plushie. Yeah. I’ve never made a plushie before. I can’t crochet (is that how you spell it?) and so I don’t plan on making a plush that I can’t just sew together the normal sewing way. I’ll buy cloth (I’m thinking something flannel-like, something soft) and sew it together with thick, heavy-duty thread. I’ll have to create my own pattern but I think I can do it. I’m pretty good at imagining dismembered puzzles and things like in Professor Layton games, so surely I’ll be able to come up with something.
Size of the plush is a big issue. I’m thinking something small, like about the length of a manga but definitely smaller than the length of a cereal box. Argh! Sorry, this isn’t coming out good now but I’m mostly brainstorming. Perhaps I should try making a human plushie (like of ZEX’s human self, designed by zarla) or maybe of the Captain or something? I don’t know.
I’m sure I could at least make some progress if I tried it out during the summer, but I won’t be able to put my skills to the test until at least next semester. I’ve complained enough about my workload this semester than I’m sure I don’t have to reiterate what I’m up against this year. Still, the end result of my work is what will motivate me! I love me some ZEX. ^_^
Anyway, that’s all I gotta say on the matter. If anyone else out there who may be reading this knows anything about plushie-building, send me a line or throw me some ideas. I’m up for any suggestions.
