CLAUDE!! CREEPY AND WEEPY ARE FIGHTING!
Whoo! Last night was my first night back at work! It was... a bit exhausting, but I met a good deal of promising Freshmen workers! I hope they stick with it. Particularly Danny and Colten, since they're both fun guys! I did like meeting Kayla and David too, but they left earlier than the other two. |D
They changed the layout of Cate ala Carte since my last time there. Like... they took out a lot of the wall partitions and some of the old, unused vent hoods. It's nice to see the place more spacious, but I think they could have chosen better paint for the sandwich shop.
See, the sandwich place used to be this kind of terracotta Tuscan look, because it used to be a pizza buffet and pasta bar. Now that the place has been a sandwich shop consistently for the last three years, it seems they deemed it time to recolor it. And we got beige. Not saying beige is a bad color, but the ENTIRE PLACE is beige. And it's really... icky. And plain and... I wish they'd at least put some crimson stripes or something. Then it would feel more school-spirited at least. But it just makes it feel too open and cold. Maybe they're trying to encourage the students not to eat in... :/ Dunno. But it's not appealing, and it makes me feel kinda blah working there.
AT LEAST I HAVE FRIENDS THERE, THO! And they're all pretty great. :3
As for school, I already have all (or most) of the text books required, my parking permit (which I still need to put in my car sometime soon) my class and work schedules figured out, and my room all set up. I should take pictures some time today, so I remember what my room looked like before my roommate came. |D
And speaking of my roommate... she goes by S, but that's about all I feel I know about her. I mean, I know she's from Tulsa area, she likes movies and she sleep walks (lol) but... that's about it.
We met briefly on Monday, 'cause I was moving in and she had some sort of interview that day, but we just talked a little and I felt it might have been a bit strained? I dunno. :/ I hope I didn't come off as too weird. I mean, I'm not necessarily the most girly of girls. I play video games, I like anime and manga and just reading books in general, and I work food service. So maybe I'm not her typical type of friend? I'm just not sure. She met me all dolled up after her interview (she was wearing a little black dress... was it for a sorority? Or a job? :/) and she had a friend with her, though her friend was kinda dressed in student casual (which means she was wearing a T-shirt and jeans.)
I'll do my best to get along with her. But she mentioned how she has a lot of guy friends, which is cool, but then she asked if it would be weird if someday one of them might spend the night? In the dorm room? and I was kinda :| about it. I mean, why would they need to stay the night? ON A GIRL'S FLOOR OF THE DORM??? I don't know, maybe if they were iced into campus (which is possible) but still, they can sleep out in the hall on the study couches! NOT in the room with me. If that does happen though (where some guy comes over, not necessarily because he was iced in) then I'm going to just grab my video games, grab my laptop and drive to a friend's house, because... no. It's just not happening.
And if it happens twice, I'm going to talk to her about it. And if it happens a third time I'm complaining to the RA and/or demanding a room change. Because that's a level of discomfort I shouldn't have to deal with when I'm paying to stay here in these dorms.
I like my suitemate though! Her name is L and she seems to be the study hard, bookworm type! I love that type of person! She's also a bit awkward, I guess? But I think that's because she's kind of a huge introvert. But she's still pretty nice, despite the shyness. I hope we hang out a little bit, since I think she's fun to talk to, especially about books!
But enough about all that. When Jansen came over, we got to talk about rp a lot, and we especially talked about our characters Claude and Ilia since they're... well, family. They're likely going to thread a lot in the future, which is exciting! I'm ready for it!
But when I thought about it, it's kinda weird that I haven't finished Star Ocean 2. But that's because the exposition at the beginning is long and... boring. :| To say the least. But anyway, Jansen convinced me to play around with more, so I did and it was phenomenal! Well, maybe not so much. The dialog is a bit stilted (or at least it seems that way to me, mostly compared to how smooth SO1 was played out) and there were some instances where the characters kinda state the obvious. BUT, it's a fun game, nonetheless.
I have to talk about one specific character, though, since he kinda is an enigma to me. XD Ashton Anchors. If you play at damned you've probably seen him there at some point before (I think he's on hiatus now?) but... he's really silly! XD
I have to say, for a double-sword fighter with a manly voice he sure is a crybaby! I really don't think his English VA fits him well, simply because he's so whiny. But it's also kinda cute that way. He's got these dragons stuck on his back, and it really upsets him when they fight. But since they've kinda fused with him (however that may have happened) he can translate their speech, so you can generally tell what they want if they're agitated. He seems to depend on Claude for help a lot of the time, though, which is... a little strange, considering, I don't know, you'd think he'd be more like someone who relies on their own strength. He was pretty ballsy fighting that dragon by himself, anyway.
... I don't know what to think of his reaction to Precis either. He said she was kinda cute and when Rena called him on it, he turned beat red. That was kinda adorable, but I can see where he was just saying she had a cute personality. I have a feeling he likes clumsy people. Maybe because he's a little clumsy himself(?). I need to get farther in the game to figure him out, that's for sure.
Oh, and he likes barrels. (Which, as I pointed out to Jansen, is a silly quirk of all the characters in Mana Khemia games. XDDD) Seriously, whenever you split your party up to go check out towns, he's usually found near a barrel. And he talks about how awesome it is. *shakes head* It's kinda cute. .... but how old is he supposed to be, anyway? o_O;;;
*sigh* But yeah, I'm still backthreading like heck in damned. I need to take care of it, but it's really building up. I'm contemplating not even throwing Ilia out there during 4th shift, but I feel that would be a waste, despite my already over-filled inbox. Still, I think Ilia and Anise's and then Harvey and Gant's conversations are almost done, so I should just take care of those asap. Even Gant's with Niikura seems to be closing soon (I almost imagine Gant will flee pretty soon, since Showy is freaking him out) so if I just stick with it it should be fine.
Anyway, gotta fix my hair, go get some lunch and then I'll tag. <3 Wish me luck, lovelies~
