[OOC || THE SHARING OF THE CANON]

Jul 01, 2009 07:10

Ryu's canon is a little... strange.

So I thought I'd post some resources to help out.

First of all, understand that this Ryu is not (officially) connected to any other Ryu in the series. Think... the Legend of Zelda series, and that there's a different Link in (almost) every game. There's fan theories on how all the Links are related, but a huge chunk of it is still speculation.

So it is with the Breath of Fire series.

Now! On to the sharing!

Obviously, all of these links contain major spoilers, though in order for the most part, but if you were worried about spoilers you probably wouldn't be looking at this entry, would you?

This is a video walkthrough by buruno on Youtube, who also has a bunch of nice supplementary videos up. However, this walkthrough isn't finished (it's still being updated). Scratch that, the walkthrough's done now. :D

This walkthrough (done by atrea on Youtube) is finished, however... the videos aren't in a nice neat playlist, so you might have to hunt and peck for video order if you're looking at this one.

someorother is scanlating the Breath of Fire manga! You have to join the LJ comm to see the scanlations, though, or just go to their site over here.

Here is a script of the game! Many thanks to GameFAQs and Hel Saga.

Here is a walkthrough by Dalez that I use as a resource for monsters and skills.

Here is a dragon guide by Raiu that has very nice and helpful stats on all of the dragon forms.

I also have a PDF of the official strategy guide (in color!), so if anyone wants me to upload that for them, just let me know.

This is a strategy guide by Tricky, but I don't use it for the guide part. There's a very nice analysis of Fou-Lu near the bottom of the guide. To find it quickly, search for "IDXG000".

Dragon Tear is one of the (very) few Breath of Fire fansites that's still around, and it's probably one of the best, if not the best site. It has forums that are still fairly active, and also something that I find incredibly useful - translations of rare Breath of Fire material!

If you're looking for fanart, the BoF Search is probably your best bet. However it's all in Japanese, so keep that in mind.
