I live in Muskegon, and I am okay with this. I am not here due to lack of funding. I am not here because I don't have the brains to go away. I am not here because I am too chicken shit to leave. I am here because I have a good opportunity here. Don't judge me. Just because you go to a university and walk to class with your ipod headphones and trendy hat doesn't mean you are superior. I don't have an overwhelming urge to "get away". I have a nice job. I have a car. I get along with my family really well and they are all here.
In two years I'll be done with school. I will have graduated with a GPA well above average. I will have several "ins" for teaching jobs in the area, without having to move out of state first. And eventually, I'll meet someone worth marrying. I'll have kids and they will have grandparents & great-grandparents here to spoil them.
