Life at UC Berkeley

Wow, I've been so busy at Cal that I have forgotten to update concerning my various adventures. I won't be able to catch up on everything with this entry; it the weekend, the only time I have to catch up on sleep.\

So I'll just talk about today.

I woke up this morning and joined my friend Ilya for his Saturday Yoga Class. It is apparently Level 2, a more advanced Yoga class, so I wasn't quite able to understand all of the motions. Afterwards I went to the Hearst Museum of Anthropology, which had works from China, North America, Peru, Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece. It is cool that I have museums so close with such a broad range of cultures. Last weekend I went to another museum, which had more modern art.

I joined some other friends for lunch at Crossroads, the dining hall for my dorm. Afterwards I was dragged by these friends for a shopping excursion into San Francisco. We went into an H&M and Macy's. I spent most of the time mimicking manicans and solving the Rubik's Cube.

Just as I was coming back from San Francisco, I ran into a bunch of my floor-mates and went with them to Crossroads for dinner. A little after getting back to my room, I set out again to go to the Berkeley Hillel.

They were holding a benefit concert for Crohn's disease, and The Afro-Semitic Experience was playing. They are group who mix traditional African and Jewish music to make a beautiful musical blend. After the concert I went out with some of guys from Hillel for boba at a nearby restaurant.

I returned only to partake in a short game of egyptian ratscrew, after which I decided I should get some sleep.

It seemed like a pretty busy day...
