work and friends in the garage

Had a dream last night that Kelly was living in my garage, which had been converted into an apartment on the inside, and that she was dating Joey. Eventually he moved in and the two of them were living in my garage with a couple of pet ferrets. Did I mention that she was pregnant? Gotta love dreams....

So, my job is kindof annoying. Still. It doesn't look like I have work this week at all due to the weather, although I have worked for a total of 5 days and something like 35 hours. All of which means I will be getting a decent pay check soon (which unfortunately won't do anything for me, because it'll all get sucked up by my gaping empty hole of a credit account). Also, I have about that same amount of time left on the project, so in the end I won't have made very much money, although it will be enough to have the experience to write down on my resume.

Yesterday I put a new faucet in my bathroom sink. I'm pretty proud of myself for that. It took a lot of patience and a little bit of ingenuity. Effectively the people at the hardware store told me that I would have to replace the water lines and everything else because nothing that they had would work with the hardware under my sink, which was way out dated and not available in the store anymore. To which I reply, there has got to be a way that I can reattach this one tiny piece without taking apart all the plumbing under my sink. Which resulted in the lady helping me find a gasket that worked just perfectly to stop the water line leak that was keeping me from completing my project. Now it is fixed and works perfectly. By the way, I payed 15c for the gasket.

In other news my sister and I are picking up a puppy today! I hear she's adorable and sweet and I have a feeling I'm going to want to keep her because she is the exact type of dog that I want (border collie mutt). I am going to have to overcome the urge to keep her though. Since I not only don't have the money for a puppy, I also don't have the time or the right place for one (busy getting my life together and tiny tiny backyard). Which actually when I think about it has never stopped anyone that I know from getting a dog. Oh well. We are just fostering her until we can find her a good home. I will get over it.
