Aya decorated the roof of the Kitten in the House with paper lanterns and brought some of the more hearty plants up from the shop to create and outdoor rooftop garden

Terra had managed to get there without incident and could barely contain her excitement. She'd been wanting to visit Aya since... well, for a long while, at any rate. So if her eyes were sparkling at everything Aya had laid out for her -- the plants, the lanterns, everything -- then Aya would just have to excuse that.
"I don't think there's a kind of food you could make that I wouldn't like," she says, laughing a little at her superhuman stomach's expense, before sitting down herself. "So, uh, is there anything we have to say before we start, or...?"
((Well, you probably know more than I do; besides, she and I both like surprises. Feel free to pick. :D))
"Not unless there is anything you would like to do. We don't need to stand on ceremony."
She smiles softly at Terra. "I wanted an excuse to play with your hair again, but I think it looks better down. The picture is going to be perfect." Or at least the part with Terra in it.
"Well, except thank you for this... for all of this," and she sweeps a hand to her side, indicating their surroundings, "and for still being an amazing sister, I don't think there's much I have to say."
Terra giggles quietly before returning the smile. "It's only going to be half perfect if you don't get in on it too. Have you ever tried doing something new with your hair?"
She can't help but smile; for some reason, even if Aya's just joking around, she likes hearing that she's making her proud. Of course, she can't really articulate those feelings, so she just says, "I'm learning from the best," and hopes that's enough.
"Ooh, right, good point." She isn't all that familiar with Japanese cuisine, but trusts Aya's words on it. "Well, yeah, we should." And she starts eating, a bit more slowly than she normally would if only because of that unfamiliarity.
((Hate to do this, but I have to head off for tonight. Thank you for the RP, as always, and, uh, if any questions come up and you don't want to disrupt the flow of the thread, you can feel free to catch me on AIM as eurousventulus.))
"Oh. I guess it's past time I give you your present." She reaches under the table and takes out a gift box wrapped in red paper. Under the tissue paper is green silk kimono.
Carefully taking and opening her present, she inhales sharply and her face lights up when she sees what's inside. "Aya, this is..." For a moment she can't even form what she thinks would be the right words. Finally, she says, "This is beautiful, Aya." Of course, she's not about to unfold it all right there, since it would wind up covered in food, so she doesn't quite have an idea of just how beautiful it is yet -- but it's close enough for her.
"You're welcome. We should probably hurry and finish eating before--" And that is a far as she gets before a burst of fireworks explodes across the sky.
"Before wh--" she starts, but it seems her question is soon answered, much to her delight. "It's not even the fourth of July!" As much as she can, she's gaping and smiling simultaneously, and definitely entertained. "Does stuff like this happen a lot?"
((Agh, my apologies for being flaky with threads lately.))
"Aya, this is... wow," came Terra's amazed voice.

"Should we have dinner first? Then you can tell me about all the stuff that has been going on since I've seen you."

"I am pretty hungry," she admits gladly, "and I have been waiting to try some more of your food."

She tries to be inconspicuous about looking at her watch. She wants to finish dinner in time to take Terra to the concert.
((What kind of concert would Terra like, or should I pick? ;) ))

"Yes, I have. It can be fun. It's just wearing my hair in braids or down is easier.
"Sakura keeps suggesting that I cut my hair to look more grown-up. But I think that she really just want me to look more like her."

"Easier to deal with, take care of... yeah, I guess so. It would still be interesting to see, but I'm not gonna force you or anything.
"C'mon, you look perfect to me. I don't care if you don't look grown-up. You look like my sister Aya, and that's all you need to look like."

"I think I'll wear my hair up for the picture though." It's a small thing to do to please Terra.
"Now you are just doing it on purpose to make me blush. It's totally working. Very good."
She thinks of the time and her eyes go wide.
"Oh, we should hurry up and eat before the food that isn't supposed to be cold gets cold and the food that is supposed to cold warms up."
