The man in the business suit stares in the direction of the shouting, but the storage room door is mostly closed and he cannot see into the room from that side of the counter. Momoe-san passes back his credit card. He hesitates for a moment before he leaves with his flowers.
The fan girls are quiet for a change, eagerly listening to the two women shout. Or at least Aya-chan is shouting. Manx has remained composed so far. Momoe-san watches though the crack in the door. Aya-chan's hands are balled into fists as she leans toward Manx. She shakes her head her braids sway like the tails of two angry cats.
Manx's hand moves almost too quickly for Momoe-san to see, there is the sound of slap, and then silence. Moments later Aya storms out of the storage room, haughty, indignant and obviously trying to play to crowds sympathy. She wretches to door open so violently that the little bell falls to the door. It slams closed behind her.
The click of Manx's heels on the floor is calm and self-assured. She takes the time to replace the little bell before she leaves the Kitten in the House.
