Pleased to present...
Nutmeg! Can anyone take a gander at to how old she may be?
She is my very FIRST hamster! I had been pondering the idea (after my boyfriend kept insisting he would get me one... long story), but i wasn't expecting to have one so soon.
She was abandoned, yesterday, at the pet store I work for, just after I left, so I was kind of surprised to see her in the adoption area when i went into work today. She was housed in a CritterTrailX, but besides the tiny cage, she seems very well taken care of. She is also very sweet and friendly, which is what won me over. <3
For most the morning I contemplated whether I should take her or not, until another person was interested in her, and at the moment my heart sank at the thought of loosing her. However, the person who was interested in her, was actually more interested in her cage (she was going to use the cage for her mice and put the hamster in another cage), so we agreed that she could have the cage and I could have my lil hamster! :D
really, the cage was no loss as I would have tossed it anyways (I hate CritterTrail cages), but since she was kind of unexpected, she is temporarily being housed in a spear 10 gallon tank I use as a hospital cage for my rats. My boyfriend and I went and looked at hamster cages at "competitor" store (since I don't like any my pet store sells), but didn't really find anything we liked. We did consider the CritterTrail Outlook (as it doesn't have any of the annoying tubes I hate), but I wasn't completely impressed.
In the end, I may just make her a bin cage, or look into one of the zoo... zoo... crap, forgot what they are called >.<

I wanted to get her a comfort wheel, but for some odd reason the PetsMart here doesn't carry the 8 in one :( I know the silent spinner isn't big enough, so I may have to buy it online.
Is this all for me!?
I'm feeding her my version of Suebee's (which I feed to my rats) with the staple being Mazuri Lab Blocks.
