exhausted

I'm exhausted but I guess relieved.
I had looked at the weekend past with trepidation, but I feel ok now that I'm past it.

Friday I awoke with a sense of empty despair, and i cocooned myself from the world. I had promised Melle help but instead I dilly dallied the day away. I made the effort to go to the football with dad. Unfortunately Essendon disappointed us.

After the football I drove to Melle's where the plan was the sleep while she packed to go to New Zealand. I was then going to be driving her to the airport at 5am. However I ended up helping her pack along with two others (she is very unorganised) and managed to grab half an hours sleep before we drove out to the airport.

With Melle successfully on the plane I drove home and was asleep at about 8am for fours hours. I awoke groggily and reluctantly, shaved, showered and got ready for a friends wedding. The drive to Sorrento was nice, listening to the football. I thought if I was too tired I wouldn't stay long at the reception. However I was having too much fun to leave. The bride and her bridesmaids looked gorgeous in the setting sun during the ceremony. The reception was a lot of fun once the dancing got started. And although I had paid for accommodation for both the friday and saturday nights, I decided to drive home and was home after 2am, and asleep in my own bed by 3am.

A phone call from dad woke me on Sunday morning and after a quick shower I drove to dads, and we were on the way to Ararat. We had lunch with mum's mum, and an aunty and uncle. We visited mum's grave and said our unspoken words. We shared afternoon tea and nan's and were then on our way home.

I managed to sleep for half an hour, and drove for about 50 minutes. I managed to keep my eyes open to watch Bastard Boys and I revelled in it. My sleep is much appreciated now. I shall revel in that too!
