Although legalizing drugs could create more jobs and boost a struggling economy I believe the damage it would do to our country morally would be far greater damage to our society than good.
Supporters for legalizing drugs say that it will boost our economy, make more jobs for people. That’s true, it will make more jobs, but it will also put a lot of people out of jobs. For instance, Drug Enforcement agency employees, there job is to stop drugs, once they are legal what are they going to do? Theres nineteen thousand two hundred and fifty-eight people working in the DEA right now, to legalize drugs would put twenty thousand plus workers out of a job. In some ways drugs being illegal adds money to the economy, think about all that money that gets seized when they make those huge drug busts, that money has to go somewhere, most likely into their budget, saving us money.
Drugs make people do bad things. Look at PCP or angeldust, when someone is on that they can go on killing sprees or walk out in front of buses and kill themselves. Or look at Cocain and Heroin, People kill people over it, drugs make the nicest of people do the nastiest of things. Yeah, drugs make you feel good, but think about what happens after you high is gone, you feel tired, you want to do it again. Drugs make you lose touch with reality, with reason, with logic and morals, they can even make you lose your life. Every drug has a side effect. Take LSD for instance, if used for long enough it can eat a hole in your spine, and cocain eats the lining of your nose, not to mention what the other drugs do to you.
One of the biggest problems with legalizing drugs would be the drastic increase in the number of users and the amount of consumption.

yeha tahts about it.
