Just finished my research paper, my first milestone finals-wise. No rush to finish editing it or anything since its not due til the weekend, but I'm feeling better now that I have one thing basically down. If only I knew what either of my next two papers would be about. Hmmm.

I'm finding finals a little less oppressive and a little funnier than usual, or at least more objectively wacky. It's interesting to watch the frosh go through their first finals (and consequently discover the library, haha -- as I type this one approaches my carrel on a desperate hunt for the bathroom). This afternoon I went to a tea party at my professor's house, complete with cucumber sandwiches and pound cake! We each selected a china tea cup and matching saucer from her wall of cups and talked about narratology and Virginia Woolf. Pretty wonderful for a rainy/sleety afternoon during finals.

Also, while working on this paper last night I found an awesome conspiracy theory website (it had a "geocities" address...) connecting the Shoreham nuclear power plant, Brookhaven National Labs, and the TWA 800 crash. It had lots of black and white aerial photos with red boxes and purple lines drawn in.
