I went on an all day field trip yesterday to New Hampshire for my geology class. "The granite state" is no exaggeration; we went to seven sites and saw maybe ten varieties of granite, which is a greater diversity than basically anywhere else in the US. It was a pretty wonderfully New England fall day, too -- cloudy, misty, a little rainy, and cool. We also had lots of fun conversations in the van (when we weren't sleeping...). Makes me wish more days could be out of the ordinary scheduling-wise. That is one of the perks of being a geo major, I suppose.

P.S. You should check out the rest of my Flickr stream for some entertaining pictures, including Ruth the Mighty Sledgehammer-er.
