Pokemon Diamond!

All right!

With the return of solid internet play (wait, it was never there!) the multiplayer aspect of Pokemon can once again shine. Arguably, if it had originally been released in a form that encouraged online play, Pokemon could have been a huge hit. (Wait...)

Ok, so it was huge regardless, but it always felt to me like the lack of internet play was excruciating, and extremely hard on the community, who had to rely on emulated play (admittedly, Netbattle was pretty good). But it's hard to feel involved, if there isn't a sense direct competition. I barely played Sapphire, Emerald, or FR/LG beyond beating the game and catching some cool guys.

Well, all that has changed now. I have myself a DS! I have Diamond! And I find myself in a position of... disappointment?

The internet play is cool, and the global trade is implemented correctly... but why is there no global battle function? So this is a shout out to all of you: Where is the community located these days? I miss the game.

Sure, Battle Revolution supposedly fixes these things, but a DS was far enough out of my budget, let alone a nintendo Wii.

So let's play Pokemon! My friend code is 2062 5854 5247. Currently I have no honest to goodness team (I haven't beaten the game), but that's no roadblock! =D
