I've come to the conclusion that this "War On Christmas" business boils down to selfishness. Are there people bitching every year that the whole country isn't saying "Happy Hanukkah"? How about "Happy Kwanzaa"? Why is it so important how we word a holiday greeting? The holidays of the winter season are all about being thankful for all the good that you find in your life, spreading that positivity around through works of good will, and welcoming a new personal beginning with the changing year. When you celebrate these things with some sort of entitled attitude, who does that benefit?
Why is it so important that people not only know what holiday you celebrate, but should be forced to celebrate it with you through a war of words? Why should the government and its agencies be forced to focus on YOUR chosen holiday when they represent ALL people? Not to mention that the Constitution prohibits the government from recognizing only one religion, officially or otherwise.
Celebrate with your friends and family. Remember the true reason for the holiday season. Stop trying to force your beliefs onto other people and at the same time, respect others who don't celebrate the same way you do. Suck it up and deal when someone says "Happy Holidays" -- they're just WORDS and carry no hateful or malicious intent whatsoever.
