Waxman Perpetuates Jewish Stereotypes

Sep 16, 2011 01:55

Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) is bringing up an interesting reason as to why NY9 now has its first Republican representative since the 1920's.
California Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman, a prominent Jewish congressman, explained that some Jews are selecting not to vote for Democrats because “they want to protect their wealth, which is why a lot of well-off voters vote for Republicans.”
Waxman is Jewish. So is it okay for him to keep perpetuating a stereotype that presents the Jewish community in a negative light as selfish money-grubbers?
