San Francisco Breaking Federal Laws?

May 08, 2011 12:35

According to a story from Fox News, San Francisco (one of the first sanctuary cities in the nation) intends to end cooperation with federal officials regarding illegal immigrants arrested in their city.

Here's some interesting information:Between October 2008 and March 2011, more than 7 million people who have been arrested have had their fingerprints run through the ICE program. Roughly 197,000 were identified as suspected illegal immigrants, and nearly 40 percent of those were in California, according to statistics provided by ICE.

This is yet another reason why funding to sanctuary cities needs to be cut-off! If a city or state voices intent to break federal law [as written in Sec. 642(a) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigration Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA)] then the leadership of that city/state should be held accountable.
