Idiot parents in comic strips seem, as I hinted a week or so ago, to believe in an economic theory propounded by the surly idiot dad in the comic strip Curtis:
Inflation does not affect things I do not buy. Evidence to the contrary is a lie my devil child son tells to deny me the pleasure of my three-pack a day cigarette habit as I worry where all of my money goes.
The other thing that irritates me is that decisions are made about what Mike knows or has to do that clearly weren't discussed with Mike. "WE" decide things should involve him but Elly and the other unsympathetic idiot parent don't do that.
