selling out of our National Parks.
I read it and is nasty. Change the term concessioner to privateer and you get the real intent. The intent is to drive revenue to these outside vendors instead of Rangers and the Parks themselves.
At one point they talked of younger people paying $1.50 out of their fees for the retired and disabled. I am quite a few years from qualifying for the discount and I think that it is important that people of a fixed income be able to enjoy these national treasures. If I have to pay a little extra so that everyone can enjoy the parks then I want to pay a little extra.
If they are going to raise the rates then raise then put the money back into the parks and not into the hands of private industry. These privateers were the very embarrassment that cause the creation of the Parks Department and it is sad to say that they are an embarrassment now. Please reconsider and invest the money into the public insteed of these private individuals.
