Band the other day went really well; the first time we'd jammed as a unit for ages. We wrote a song from scratch and basically finished it, as well as finally laying a certain Duck to rest; so two new songs when next we play.

Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion. See it. A bit of a kick in the guts. I knew Tibet was a bad scene, but this was worse than I dreamed. If it was genocide in 1960, what is it now? The worst is the fundamental absence of a solution. China wants Tibet for its resources and geostrategic location - who controls the high ground in central asia controls Asia. The tragedy is the culture seems really wonderful. Far from perfect as a society and an outward standard of living, but some substantial signs of having their heads and hearts in the right place.

Heart of Empire by Brian Talbot. Read it. Alternate future with a totalitarian British empire ruling the world savagely and psychedelics and parallel worlds and more wonderful craziness than can be reported. Think a more coherent Grant Morrison with gorgeous art.

I seem to know an enormous number of quite wonderful and generous people.

One more sleep to holiday. It's weird, I don't know how long it has been since I went on a holiday, or left town for something that wasn't a one night mission for a party or a gig, or visiting someone who was dying or something similarly strenuous... maybe six or so years?

Eidolon has gone to its first readers, heralding a substantial break from Billy-writing-a-novel. I may write a movie in the meantime. I may get a job lifting heavy things and not thinking. I may do all sorts of things. It's quite exciting.
