Library of Babble

Last night was Rick's birthday, so we gathered and played with cards. I won one pickle round by laying down a library. I agreed with Rick (& Cathy did too) that I should not have won where the argument stood when I collected the pile. Still, I did have a back-up explanation, but, since Tom & Ellen let me win it, I didn't bother, but now I am curious as to whether it would have been accepted, and I have nothing better to do, since the bookstore is not yet open. So...

To R. Banghart: Would you have accepted this explanation last night?

The books contained within this library are all titled with singular nouns. Maybe the only books in the library are Atom, DNA, Plankton, Hurricane, Alley, and Solar System. Each book is a written description of what we mean when we say, for example, "Plankton" and what we might know about Plankton. Each book also contains a full description of each thing deemed smaller than it, either because the smaller things are part of the larger things or to give a size comparison (as in the case of a Hurricane and Tornado Alley). Perhaps, the following is written in Hurricane: "The hurricane with its whirlingness swirls the plankton. This interesting phenomenon brings us to the subject of the next chapter of Hurricane, "Plankton".
Therefore, DNA will be larger than Atom, Plankton larger than DNA, and so on. And all these books are in the library.

To M. Merva: I hear there is an article about a unique rock formation floating out there. I would like to read it.
