Livejournal: The College Years
So I'm 18! That's some crazy shit...Thursday night the suities asked if I wanted to go to Madison Grill for dinner, and we'd meet my roomate there. So we're leaving and we stop in the big TV louge building to drop off a CD. I walk in and...SURPRISE!! There are 6 pizzas on the pool table, a coldstone cake, and all these people! My roomate Jessica planned it and everyone went along. I was so happy! I really have the best roomate ever. Bess played that Beatles birthday song and Maribeth made me a mix (she put New York State of Mind on it for me aww) and a bracelet and it was just awesome. Just when I was starting to doubt my connection with these people.
My actual birthday was fun too- it was the only birthday that actually made me feel older. Because I'm at college, I'm sure.
Then my parents came to campus yesterday morning, and that was really fun. I got to show them around campus..it was nice to see them. Then I went to the football game for a little, stayed for halftime and then left to go out to dinner with the rents. JMU actually won a game- 64-7 or something equally sad! Last night I opted to stay in the hotel with them- my room is still lacking AC and it gets brutally hot at night. It was hard saying goodbye to them for a little today, but it didnt last long at all.
Right now I'm putting off reading like 265523 chapters and calling people. Oh and eating peanut butter M&Ms that came in the birthday package from Jessica's parents! Seriously how awesome is that family?!
Glad everyone's collegeness is going so well...11 weeks till Thanksgiving! It's gonna fly by so fast.....
