For some reason I get offered less credit than I used to - this is despite earning much more. The worst were the repeated offers for credit cards with a limit the same as my gross yearly salary...

Blimey. I'm not a banker but that doesn't sound like terribly wise lending! Presumably you didn't take up all the offers and max them all out? *grin*

I think they've put me in a fairly high social category maybe due to things like classical concerts and wotnot. I'm actually pretty careful about money and usually live well within my means, with sporadic splurges. I must shift my arse and change my mortgage to a cheaper fixed or variable version, mind.

Then again, although Visa themselves have given up on trying to get me to change my card, I don't think Morgan Stanley have. They could be offering me 50 grand for all I know, but the letters go straight in the bin/recycle.

You'd probably not be able to get them all accepted, but you could get a lot. At one point I had £25k on 0% credit cards. Took about 6 weeks to acquire. It then sat in the bank earning me 5%, so all was well. The banks have clamped down on that particular scam now though.
