A Ron Saxton concession speech is a beautiful thing.

It almost seems silly to chant after being heckled with it in D.C. two years ago, but...4 MORE YEARS! 4 MORE YEARS!!!

Oregon's Governor, 2007-2011, will be Ted Kulongoski (D), incumbent.

Oregon's Congressional representatives, 2007-2009, will be:
Darlene Hooley (D), incumbent, 5th District
Peter DeFazio (D), incumbent, 4th District
Earl Blumenhauer (D), incumbent, 3rd District
Greg Walden (R), incumbent, 2nd District
David Wu (D), incumbent, 1st District

Oregon voters have said NO to:
Measure 40, Judicial elections. Oregon Supreme Court justices will not be elected by district.
Measure 41, Income tax deduction. State revenue will not instantly be cut.
Measure 42, Insurance rates. Insurance companies can still use credit ratings in deciding some parts of your premium.
Measure 43, Abortion notification. Parental notification will not be required for teen girls seeking an abortion.
Measure 45, Term limits. No lowered term limits for Oregon house members.
Measure 46, Campaign finance. No new laws regarding election contributions and expenditures.
Measure 47, Political contribution limits. No new limits on political contributions.
Measure 48, Spending limits. No arbitrary spending growth scheme.

Oregon voters have said YES to:
Measure 39, Property condemnation. Public body cannot condemn private property with the intention to sell to a private party.
Measure 44, Prescription drug plan. Any Oregon resident without prescription drug coverage can participate in the Oregon Prescription Drug plan.

Currently, Democrats are headed towards control of the Oregon House and Senate. A Democrat is actually beating the incumbent Republican congresswoman in McMinnville...a very backwards little town in a backwards little county. And the Hosebeast From Hell, Karen Minnis, still might lose...and even if she wins, she won't be Speaker any more because the Dems are getting the House back.

I'm so proud of Oregon voters. It's all turning out exactly how I voted, save Measure 39, which I didn't have that strong of an opinion on in the first place (voted against it because its cost was too high and it smacked too strongly of Measure 36 from 2004). On the national level, things are going phenomenally, despite Bushie's two-year-old method of "I say it will stay Republican so it will." We probably won't get the Senate, but at least the House will be less crazy right-wing...and Pelosi will be the first ever woman Speaker. Soooo much better than Gingrich '94.

My faith in humanity has been restored a bit tonight. :) Well...except for George "Macaca" Allen keeping the dream alive. Holyflyingbiggotwtf?

And what the hell...let's make this the first public post in two years. A troll or two might keep me entertained when I'm bored.
