tent state: day 1

Apr 16, 2006 21:31

after an hour of setting up my tent; thinking i put a pole in the wrong place, taking it down, then putting it up only to realize i had it right the frist time; i am ready for my first night in hippie town.

first, let me make it clear. i am not there to protest the war, or money for higher education, or another mission statements of tent state. i've come to accept the fact that the era of protesting to have government listen, is long gone. our right to protest has been comodified and marketed so now the only way to have the government listen is money.

now, the reason i am doing tent state is to camp out in a tent for a week. also, to observe the rituals and behaviors of the speices known as "the hippie".

i have placed my tent just outside the boundaries of the hippie terriory, as to not interfer with their behavior nor to be influenced by their ways. yet, i will still immerse myself in their culture once i can go in undetected.

i will attempt to update each day and record my observations and notes in effort to understand the ways of the hippie and understand their simple yet complex minds.

today jesus resurrected as a God, tonight i will become a hippie.
