today was a revolution in democracy. today i can be happy.
i was never a big obama guy until i talked to some black people and my parents and realized what a big deal it really is to have a black man running for president.
i'm not sure if he will keep his promises or if he will accomplish anything but the thing i'm most certain of is that things will never be the same, and i like that.
i never got into the presidential race because i was never 100% behind a candidate, it was always the lesser of two evils. but i stopped letting the media tell me who to like, and i stopped looking at facts and figures and i took a step back and i thought not what one candidate would get done verse another, but what it would mean for one candidate to get elected verse another.
mccain would me 4 more years of ignorance, and close minded ways of looking at the world. obama would mean 4 years of looking at the world differently. not seeing how we can make money for ourselves but how we can help each other and trust each other and not be afraid any more. the way he speaks gives me chills.
i'm tired of being afraid all the time. afraid of the government, afraid of people, afraid of not getting the right job or the right girl or the right personality. today i can stop being afraid. the collective energy that i felt last night was unbelievable. i stopped by my old college and people were in the streets as if we won a foot ball game. horns were honked, people were cheering. we won. we're taking back this country. smart triumphs over evil. trust and individuality smashes fear and group think.
i used this change to make changes in my own life. i suggest you do the same. now is the time when people are going to embrace a change, i think we should all make changes in our lives for the better. its often hard to make a change in your life because we are afraid that people may not look at us the same way, or may question our new ways. no longer do we need to live with this fear. our generation is right. our generation knows whats best. we may not have all the answers, or the experience, but we have been through a hell of a lot more in a shorter time than any other generation, and we are defaintly the smartest, if not by sheer information than by our open mindedness and willingness to accept change and know that change is a natural force and nature is good.
i learned a lot of things yesterday but two i want to share are:
there is no right or wrong just the consequences of your actions.
and
capitalism is simply a wide spread and widely accepted pyramid scheme.
