Since I started this two weeks late, I'm taking two of the prompts and writing up some quick and dirty stories today.

Be forewarned- these stories wre very quickly written, and have no Beta. (allthough, I don't think I'm going to get a Beta for these- they are only going to be about 200 or less words each.) I'm also doing this out of order, using whatever gives me inspiration the Monday I start writing.

#18. Giraffes
word count :137

The little girl watched them in awe. Within their caged area they ran and played, stretching their long necks toward the sun. The little girl wanted to one day be as tall as them. She thought it must be wonderful, being able to see so much.

Every now and then one of them would lean over the fence, expectantly. The little girl shied away from them, afraid to let their long sticky tongues touch her. Her father bravely held his hand out to one of them, allowing it to eat the pellets he was holding. When it was done eating, it leaned further out towards her father before retreating. Once he had left, The girl and her father noticed the sticky trail of spit that the giraffe had placed on the man's shirt.

The little girl laughed.

#38:A Deep Blue-Green Color
Word count: 128

It was the most hideous thing she had ever seen. She could almost handle the fact that the color reminded her of vomit, but the bows, ruffles and taffeta- dear god, the taffeta!- Made her want to rip the dress to shreds. She paced back and forth in her small dressing room; she had less than half an hour to get dressed. She could barely stand looking at it, never mind actually putting it on. Every time she glanced over, she could swear that it was staring at her.

Although, it was her sister's wedding, and it would make her mother, the seamstress, happy if she wore it. Five minutes before the ceremony, she put the unspeakably evil thing on, resigning her self to the fate of Bridesmaid.
