I'm feeling so burnt out lately. I'm either at work, at school, or at home working on school stuff. I throw in some sleep and Maddox time too here and there. Not as much Maddox time as Keri would like, but as much as I can while still getting things done. I feel bad because I know that she really doesn't get to do anything all day besides take care of him, but there's not much I can do about it right now. He's still really fussy, so he won't lie down by himself for very long, even if he's sound asleep.
We're taking him to a specialist at the UofM for his hernia, where he might possibly get surgery to fix it. We've heard the surgery isn't very serious at all, really just a little slit. We'll see. I think it'll help his fussiness a lot, especially when we try to lay him on his stomach.
There's an animation show May 5th at the Block E theater being put on by my school. It's all student animations, and is being judged by industry professionals in the area. First prize for individual is a paid internship at Oops animation, and first prize for groups is $200. The deadline is April 11th. I'm doing a 2D short with 3 other guys, it'll be about a minute or so long, done all in Flash. I'm confident we'll get it done in time. We're doing it in my Traditional Animation Studio class. In my Computer Animation Studio class I'm doing a 3D short by myself, it'll also be around a minute. It's about robot monkeys! Haha. I know that sounds cheesey, but it's not. There are 2 characters, a gorilla and a monkey. The monkey is all done, modeled textured rigged and everything. The gorilla is modeled and textured, and I'm almost done rigging. The set is pretty much all done also. I've got about 3 weeks left in this quarter to animate it all, then 2 more weeks after that until the April 11th deadline. I've never done anything this big before, so I'm a bit scared I might not get it done in time. I need music for it too, so if anyone would like to write and record some for me, I would love you forever and a day. Something simple and quirky maybe. Let me know.
I haven't played a video game in about a month or so. That just sounds unimagineable to me. No WoW, no Unreal, no Xbox, no nothing. I canceled my WoW subscription finally today. That's how busy I've been. I read several different web comics daily, like PvP, Penny-Arcade, GU, OotS, Ctrl-Alt-Del, which are all mostly gaming related. The artists always talk about what games they're playing and what's hot right now and stuff, and it just makes me sad. I mean, I haven't even played Half-Life 2 yet! Now i'm really sad. Bah.
