I've never had a problem with drugs, either. It has never something I sought out and I was so lame both in h.s. and in college that I wouldn't have even had a clue about how to go about getting any. I did room with a couple of guys in grad school who smoked pot occasionally and I took a hit once - but I didn't notice any kind of high from it.
Alcohol has always been my social lubricant. I don't drink alone, but I do like having a beer or 3 or 5 with friends.
