DOCTOR SHOT AT PRINCETON HOSPITAL
Aye, that was me. December 14th 2007. I hear I kept making headlines for a few days after that, too. I wish I could say it was cool, but it wasnae. It almost ruined my life and almost stole what I've always considered a very special gift from me. I nearly died... actually, I did clinically die for nearly five minutes. Thank god for good doctors, aye?
I suppose just being me is what precipitated it. I had a seriously ill patient I was treating in the ICU and his sister took a wee liking to me. Aye, okay - not so wee. She tried sending me notes and started stalking me and my girlfriend, which I didnae realise at the time. As much as I hate to admit it, proposing to my girlfriend seemed to be what precipitated it. The woman got wind of it via hospital staff and it's what led to her pulling a gun on my fiancee on the front walk of the hospital. She was going to shoot the love of my life. I dinnae even know what I was thinking by then. I dinnae remember most of it. But I jumped in front of her and took the bullet, then spent nearly a month in a coma.
