The Pacific Ocean from atop sand dunes at Nehalem State Park

I've been unable to load photos for the past couple of days due to slow internet service but finally got one photo out. This State Park is nice. The ocean is within hearing distance and is an easy walk away. It's tranquil and beautiful here. Just doing some beach combing and learning more about our new GoPro camera. I haven't done much with the drone yet due to the fact that they're forbidden in National Parks and my movie editing is still in it's infancy. My posts should get incrementally better as I learn. It's fun to have projects, though. It keeps me out of the bars

We've been in Portland up until last Sunday, visiting with the girls and getting to know our new granddaughter. Aylén is 5 ½ months old now and getting very aware of her environment and having very strong opinions about it as well.

My mother was in the hospital for shortness of breath which is, apparently, mostly age related. She ended up having an echocardiogram which revealed what they thought was a mass (aneurism?) in the aorta. A followup CT scan revealed it to be in the pancreas and a further MRI revealed that it's just a cyst. Commonly called an "incidentaloma". It was another case of expensive abnormal findings that have nothing to do with the reason for hospitalization. She's out of the hospital and rehabbing to regain the strength that her 96 year old body lost while laying in the hospital bed.

We'll be exploring the Pacific Northwest for the next few weeks, with a probable side trip to Vancouver Island. My nephew and his wife live in Tacoma WA and Kathy's sister lives just outside of Seattle so we'll do some relative visiting while we're at it. We have plans to be back in the DFW area in late September--early October as long as things go well with my mother. We've avoided the tornadoes and hail associated with Spring there and hope to avoid the sweltering heat of the summer as well.
