Children of Men

This may contain spoilers, so...

Last night, Children of men played at the Bloor Cinema. I called up David and invited him to come watch it with me.

I'd only heard good things about it, so I thought it was a hard opportunity to pass up.

He bought us Pitas, and we got seats ten or twenty minutes before the curtain rose.

I was expecting a dark, yet optimistic masterpiece. What I got was another bleak and depressing doomsday flick.

You always expect to lose a few heroes in the battle, but it's too expected to lose ALL of them.

At least, you'd think that if the entire world had lost hope of continuing the race, that they'd want to preserve what little life they had left.

You'd think that every single side of the war that 'needed' the baby wouldn't try to keep it safe DIRECTLY in the line of fire.

I found the movie thought provolking, but too pessimistic. I personally don't think that a hopeless future would adopt firearms in the place of children. I was especially disappointed at the end of the movie, that everything only lasted the PERFECT ammount of time.
