I have come to the conclusion that we leave the fat people alone, they have to be the happiest people alive. Even as the fat bastard I was back in the day I was much happier then than I am now sure I look better now but damn I have to calorie count like a mother fucker well no we arent going to go here this was not the purpose of this post.
I recently read an article titled the Mcdiet, A woman claims she lost substantial weight eating only Mcdonalds I wonder how much Mcdonalds paid her to make that claim, the company needed to redeem it self some how after the documentary Super size me.
A woman in New England reported her doctor to some medical board because he told her she was over weight and needed to lose it. Well no of course he told her she needed to lose the weight she IS fat and he IS a doctor. She went to see him to improve her health and as a fat person I can tell you that weight does affect your over all health.
A man is walking from Oceanside California to New York he left his job his family will most likely lose thier home amongst other things, he is doing this because he feels it is the way for him to go. Well hey if it works for you what ever.
Obesity is such an epidemic in America and it is because of our culture not just our over indulgence tendencies but also our lack of patience. Thousands of pills and books and videos and infomercials promising results instantly. We as Americans want the quick answer we have niether the time nor the patience to actually do it the right way which takes time. I myself am a perfect example of this to make my bi yearly weigh ins I crash diet, vomit inducing liquids, starvation, dehydration, laxatives, garbage bags suits in saunas etc etc etc because I do not feel like living my life based on a calorie counter. Another personal example of Americans lacking patience, college, I have the hardest time finishing college because it takes too much time and I am forced to take classes I could care less about, I want my degree and I want it NOW.
Yes nutrition awareness is important and leading healthier lifestyles is crucial as well but I feel the most important step we could take towards beating the obesity epidemic in America is to out right change the impatience aspect of our culture, so many people give up on diet and exercise regiments once they see little progress after one week because they are impatient. If we focused more on that rather than suing food companies and blaming animated characters and compeling ads perhaps we would win the battle.
