What to do "if"...
Got zapped with a computer problem last night. I don't know if it's a virus, worm, trojan, or whatever, but the end result is that you can't get a browser or MSN Messenger to work...which can really mess up your life.
The last thing that happened before both Firefox and IE croaked was a window that popped up from Zone Alarm Pro telling me that it was changing my network. It didn't offer a "no" choice, just an "ok". I didn't want it mucking around with my network, so I did a hard shut down. Rebooted and neither browser would work.
How to fix it...or what worked for me.
Double click on the little icon in the tray that shows internet activity,
click on the Support tab and click on repair. Took a couple of times, but my browsers are working now.
