Remember how hotels used to be? You'd make a booking and they'd reserve your room for you, and when you check in on the start date they would charge you for the amount for the room for that time of stay. If you didn't show then your reservation was voided and your room made available to someone else. You remember those times right?
Well where the fuck did they go?!
I made myself a reservation at a hotel for a convention later this year, the hotel has now this week already charged me the full amount for this stay I am yet to even collect on and use. How the hell does that work? I am paying for a room now that, God forbid nothing ever does happen, would not be accessible to me or my roomie if a family tragedy was to occur and I couldn't go to the convention.
The hotel should only need to take my money when I have arrived in their lobby and checked in that day, that's the only time they should have to take my money. Not half a year beforehand. This has annoyed me greatly due to the fact I was due to do my shopping tonight, but as I was unaware this money had gone out within the last 24 hours, I now have no shopping because I didn't have the funds to pay for it. Damnit, this is why I need a credit card!
