Back from computer-less-ness

This time, however, it broke while the parts for the upgrade were already on order. Unfortunately, the new motherboard hasn't arrived, so so far all I've done is replaced the temporary stopgap replacement PSU that almost lasted long enough with a new one.

Still have screen distortion, though. Might have to try switching moniters.

Might do a more detailed update later - 'tis been a hectic week.

EDIT (Morning of Feb27): And now, my computer has chosen to demonstrate the folly of counting chickens. I find it difficult to believe that the exact same problem is occurring with different PSUs (drop in voltage on the 3.3V line, leading to spontaneous reboots, in worst-case scenarios resulting in the computer being caught in a loop where it reboots before it's finished booting and the power switch stops working, leading to cutting off the power entirely being the only way to turn it off), so unless I can find a way that these symptoms can be shown from a problem with another part, I think it's time to start looking at what's going into the PSU.
