You know who pisses me off, Peter Jackson, the so-called current master of fantasy. I know what your thinking, how dare he diss the man who brought Lord of the Rings to the big screen, but before you write me off as insane just hear me out. It has come to my attention that Mr. Jackson is lacking in certain areas. Mostly the areas involving original thought but possibly other areas also, but that's between him and and whoever hes boinking. If you think that I'm wrong about my statement look at the movies that he became well know for. Yes I'm talking about the Lord of the Rings. Don't get me wrong I loved the movies almost as much as I loved the books. But you have to ask yourslef can we really give Jackson that much credit for them. After all they are Tolkien's masterpiece. Jackson did little more than copy, I mean "adapt", Tolkien's glories work for the screen. Before Lord of the Rings how many of you knew who Peter Jackson was. I'm assuming a precious few know that he played a part in such well know movies as Heavenly Creatures, Meet the Feebles, and Bad Taste. Actually the most noteworthy pre-lotr that I'm seeing is The Frighteners which was decent but from what I saw nothing amazing. And lets look at his most recent work, Peter Jackson's King Kong. Instead of coming up with his own idea he steals King Kong from Schoedsack who doesn't have allot going for him. If you look at some of the movies that Jackson is working on you'll see The Lovely Bones which is "adapted" from a book by Alice Sebold, Also you will find the Halo movie on his to-do list. Now I was never a big Halo fan, but I know a little about the story and I pose one question. How difficult could it be to direct a movie if the world is already created for you?
