Merlin Creature Project!

Hi there, lovelies! :D

If you missed the last post, the idea is to start another art project sometime this year. From the responses we've garnered, there are quite a number of you who are interested in collaborating which is wonderful! \o/

The two most-picked themes are the Creature followed by the Immortal Series, so we'll be going with the Creature theme this time around (and shelf the Immortal one for now). Since there are so many creatures to choose from and we do not want to stifle your creativity, there will be no fixed set of character-creature pairings like we had in the previous years. That way you are free to claim any sort of magical or supernatural creatures for the characters during the sign-ups. The possibilities are endless!


Here are the proposed rules and details:

Timeframe

• Sign-ups: From 3rd November, 2012 (12PM GMT) till 11th November, 2012.
• Final list of assignments will be posted on the 14th November, 2012.
• Deadline: 28th of February, 2013.
• Time period: 4 months.
• Please post your finished art to the comm whenever you want before the deadline.

Sign-Ups and Assignment Process:

• Participants can claim their choices of characters and creature for each character in order of preference.
• We hope to assign everyone with a character-creature in their top choices, if possible.
• If more than one participant lists the same choices in the same order, then characters or creatures will be sorted according to whoever commented first. (This serves as a tiebreaker of sorts)
• If all your choices have been taken, available characters will be suggested according to your preferences.
• Hopefully we're able to assign everyone with a unique creature and character. But we want to make sure that everyone's is happy with their assignment, so if it turns out that it is impossible to give everyone a different one character to one creature set no matter how many different combinations we try, then we'll just assign everyone with a different creature and allow multiple character occurrences.

The claiming form is pretty flexible - just tell us what you want. Example:

Preferences: These are the only pairings I would entertain.
Template and Rules:

• The template must be completely filled. (No blank background or line art see projects: Tarot, Zodiac, Celtic)
• Only drawn digital/traditional mediums are accepted.
• You must draw your character AS the creature.
• Please don't change the template.
